Edward Hopper - New York Movie (1939)
My favourite painting: romantic, realistic, well executed, a really unusual composition and ultimately it terrifies - has the boredom of work ever been expressed so well?

roGER's seldom read or updated blog on stuff that interests me. You'll find stuff here on films, books, cars, tennis, a bit of football and, because I'm English, the weather. There's also some politics and pro-Palestinian stuff as well.

The American poet, Mark Strand, has written an insightful book on Hopper's art titled "Hopper". If you haven't read it (I have a copy; did I loan it to you?), I encourage you to do so.
It rings a vague bell Marshall, but remember I've not actually been in your neck of the woods for over four years now (gulp!).
So forgive me if I don't recall the details...
Hope all is well and your move goes smoothly.
Caretake,
