Today was going to be UK Independence Day!
According to an infamous (and unintentionally very funny) article by Daniel Hannan in 2016, today "Britain is marking its annual Independence Day celebration."
He was, of course, talking about Brexit, and predicted that today in 2025, "The years that followed the 2016 referendum didn’t just reinvigorate our economy, our democracy, and our liberty. They improved relations with our neighbours." Wrong, wrong, wrong, and wrong.
